Artist Common is the art student organization of the Department of Art at Lamar University. Artist Common is open to all students studying art at Lamar. Students do not need to be art majors to be a member of Artist Common or to participate in Artist Common activities. The purpose of Artist Common is to foster collegiality and community among all art students of Lamar and the greater community. Artist Common reaches out to the Lamar community through outreach, exhibition opportunities for students, and sponsoring free events such as art movie nights, guest artist lectures, and artist workshops.

Feldspar is the Department of Art ceramics club. Feldspar promotes awareness of the art of ceramics, and is active in community outreach through the ceramics medium. They host several ceramics sales and exhibitions through the year across the Golden Triangle, and raise funds for the Southeast Texas Foodbank by participating in the Empty Bowls Project.
Kappa Pi International Honorary Art Fraternity - Beta Tau Chapter
Kappa Pi is an organization with over 360 chapters installed on the campus of colleges and universities in the many parts of the United States and abroad.
Each initiate to Kappa Pi pledges to do their best to develop their potential as artists or as interpreters of art to others. Members pledge to help all student artists as much as possible and to assist in training and directing public opinion into a deeper appreciation of the arts. Finally, members of Kappa Pi pledge their best efforts to enhance a future environment for the aesthetic enrichment of my fellow human beings.

The purpose of the Beta Tau chapter of Kappa Pi International Honorary Art Fraternity at Lamar University is:
- To increase awareness of the art program at Lamar University by being inducted in an honorary art society.
- To provide an open forum for discussion, informal study and communication among artists.
- To raise the standards of productive artistic work at Lamar University.
- To promote the standard of scholarship through the minimum academic requirements for membership.
- To promote the standard of leadership by giving art students the opportunity to actively participate in a liberal arts environment.

Lamar University Design Studio is a student run organization recognized by the University. Lamar University Design Studio helps students explore and learn the different aspects of contemporary graphic design. Students work together on real world graphic design client projects, they do community service, and they bring in visiting designers for professional development events.
National Art Education Association
The National Art Education Association is a student organization open to all art majors. In collaboration with Artist Common, the NAEA sponsors various workshops and activities to enrich each student's education and college experience. Every year the NAEA organizes and helps fund a trip to the Texas Art Education Association conference. This conference promotes the professional aspects of art education. The Print Council at Lamar University
The Print Council at Lamar University promotes the knowledge and practice of all processes of printmaking and works on and of paper locally, regionally, and nationally. The group regularly invites visiting artists to interact with students as well as holding live printing events to fund member travel to local, regional, and national symposiums and conferences. All interested members of the Lamar University community are eligible to join the Print Council at Lamar University. Residents of the community at large shall be considered for membership on an individual basis.
