Mr. Balentine teaches radio broadcasting, podcasting, studio recording and media programming classes. He began broadcasting in 1978 as a late night radio announcer and a host and producer of a public affairs program on television.

He was named Program Director for KVLU in 1987. In March 2005 he was promoted to Station Manager until his retirement in 2022. He has been honored four times by the press club of Southeast Texas for best public affairs / talk show program, and by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for KVLU’s recovery efforts after Hurricane Rita.

He currently volunteers for KVLU as a program host and producer. He also hosts and produces his own YouTube Channel.
