National Student Speech Language Hearing Association
Mrs. Ashley Dockens (Audiology)
Ms. Karen Whisenhunt-Saar (Speech-Language Pathology)
The Lamar University NSSLHA Chapter strives to promote awareness regarding the fields of speech-language pathology and audiology and support our local community by offering our time and services to those in need.
NSSLHA is a pre-professional membership association for students interested in the study of communication sciences and disorders. NSSLHA has over 314 independently operated chapters located on college campuses and universities. Membership in national and local NSSLHA is available to undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students enrolled full- or part-time in a communication sciences program or related major. As a member of the organization, you will be involved in fundraisers, service projects and attend different conventions.
Lamar's NSSLHA chapter recently received bronze-level recognition from the national organization. Chapters that earn recognition demonstrate an awareness of student issues and concerns, outreach to the community, educational opportunities, and social and fundraising activities.
