Michelle A. White has served as an adjunct faculty member of Lamar University since 2009, as well as board member and treasurer of the Southeast Texas Youth Symphony. She currently teaches online music appreciation, and has also taught music theory and music appreciation on campus. During her time in Beaumont, she served as the clarinet instructor for the Lamar Summer Band Camp (2009), adjudicator, and private lesson instructor for many Region 10 middle and high school students. In addition to her Lamar appointment, she also teaches courses in human resources (HR) as an associate faculty member for the University of Phoenix campuses in Austin and Killeen, and serves as a subject matter expert in HR for Central Texas College.

As an orchestral member, Ms. White performed with several groups including Lamar University’s theater and opera productions, Lamar Civic Orchestra, Beaumont Civic Opera, Concert Band of Southeast Texas, and Symphony of Southeast Texas. While attending Lamar, she participated in numerous band, wind ensemble, orchestra, and clarinet performances including the Phi Mu Alpha Honors Recital (1994, 1995).

Ms. White earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clarinet performance from Lamar, and a master’s in organization and management with HR specialization from Capella University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in organizational psychology from Walden University. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, College Music Society, International Clarinet Association, and Texas Distance Learning Association.
