Dwight Peirce received a Bachelor of Music in piano from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music in Ohio. He received his Master of Music in piano performance and accompanying from there as well. From 1977 to 1981, Mr. Peirce was an assistant professor at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, where he taught piano and music appreciation.

Since 1982, Mr. Peirce has been a lecturer/instructor in piano accompaniment at Lamar. In addition, Mr. Peirce is the organist at Wesley United Methodist Church and Temple Emanuel in Beaumont. He is the sub-dean of the Beaumont Chapter of The American Guild of Organists. Over the years, Peirce has served as accompanist for various music organizations in the area; including Beaumont Interfaith Choir, Beaumont Civic Opera, Beaumont Community Players, pianist for the Symphony of Southeast Texas (1982­–90), and the annual Brilliance Concert Series at the Jefferson Theatre. He was the organist for Beaumont’s First Methodist Choir’s tour of Italy in 2006 with performances at St. Peter In Chains in Rome and San Moise in Venice. In 2008, he toured Spain with the First Methodist Choir, and gave performances at the Basilica Pontifica de San Miguel in Madrid, as well as Cathedrals in Leon and Barcelona.

Honors awarded to Mr. Peirce include The Orpheus Award (1996) from Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia—a national professional musician’s fraternity; The Southeast Texas Art Council’s 1998 Arts Award for “Outstanding Achievement by an Artist” and being listed in the 2006/07 Edition of Marquis “Who’s Who in American Education,” as well as “Who’s Who in America” and “Who’s Who in the World” from 2007 to present.
